Drake fares well at FIS slalom races

On January 3rd, local alpine ski racer Steven Drake scored well in two FIS slalom races in Sugar Bowl California. The race was originally scheduled to be a four day event consisting of two slalom races and two giant slalom races. Due to an dangerous set of storms that were moving into the area, which left 11 feet of snow in some places, the race was confined to two slaloms on the 3rd.

Drake started in the 58th position on the first run of both races. He finished well and lowered his points greatly with a 16th place finish in the first race and 27th the following race.
