The Carroll College men (8-1) swept their doubleheader with the University of Calgary, winning their second matchup in two nights Saturday, 62-61.

Junior forward Chris Medina led the Saints with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-10 from behind the 3-point arc.

Freshman Andy Garland followed up inside with 14 points and nine rebounds. Senior Josh Saunders added 12 points.

One night after easily defeating the Dinos 84-58, the Saints had to rally back from a 10-point deficit in the second half.

"We crept back and crept back and got the lead in the last minute," said Saints head coach Gary Turcott.

After the Dinos capped a 3 to pull within one, Medina made one of two free throw shots to score the Saints' final point.

Calgary's Dom Coward, was 4-for-4 up to that point, sunk one of his two free throw attempts down the stretch as Carroll held on.

"What we did tonight was we found a way to win," Turcott said. "Sometimes you don't make all your 3s and the game isn't real smooth.

"It was one of those games tonight where it was a struggle."

The Saints will next participate in an alumni exhibition game Dec. 13.
