KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Head Oregon Tech Volleyball Coach Angela Stewart announced the signing Tuesday of Capital High School senior Jackie Polette for the upcoming 2008 volleyball season.
Polette, a 5-foot, 6-inch setter was a three-time all-conference selection and was also selected to the first team all-state squad as a setter in 2006 and 2007. Polette set several top-10 records at CHS, including the career record for aces with 126 assists in a career with 2,041, digs in a career with 532 and is fifth on the career blocks list with 71.
"We are honored to have Jackie commit to the Oregon Tech volleyball program," said second-year head coach Angela Stewart. "One can tell by her achievements that she will accomplish much. She is highly talented, a great floor leader, quick to the ball and very coachable. I am excited to watch her as a collegiate athlete."
Jackie is the daughter of Ted and Ronna Polette and will major in Medical Imaging Technology at Oregon Tech. Sister, Jill Myhre, played for NAIA and Region I opponent Carroll College. Jackie will also participate in Track and Field where she will pole vault for the Owls. Polette finished ninth in the state at the 2005 Montana state meet.
