The Helena Senators are scheduled to meet the Butte Miners in the Mining City today.
The game is the Eastern AA Conference opener for both clubs. The tilt is slated to take place at Montana Tech's Alumni Coliseum, beginning at 7 p.m.
Helena swept the Missoula Mavericks in a doubleheader on Sunday in Missoula. The wins were the first of the year for the local nine, as their record stands at 2-4.
The Senators got two quality starts from pitchers Chris Nichols and Nick Trapp over the weekend.
Nichols went the first five innings in the opening 9-8 victory, shutting out the Mavericks on just one hit.
Trapp twirled a complete game in the 6-3 triumph in the nightcap, scattering seven hits.
Jake Winslow stroked five base knocks on the day, followed by three hits apiece from Adam Eckhart, Nick Retz, Derek Estep and Colter Sternhagen.
Coach Dave Thennis said he planned on starting Pat Morgan on the bump today.
"We're ready to keep it rolling," Thennis said.
Butte's latest action was a split against the Class A Bitteroot Bucs on Saturday.
The Mining City crew won the first game 5-4, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, before dropping the next contest, 9-2.
The Miners' Riley Semmons and Brad Kremer each produced critical RBIs in the comeback triumph. Reliever Zack Curnow was credited with the win.
