Talk about a turnaround.

Butte Mucker Gabe Kissell rebounded from a rough first game to pound the game-winning hit as the Butte Class A American Legion Baseball team battled back from a blowout loss for a thrilling win in the nightcap of a non-conference doubleheader against the Helena Reps at Alumni Coliseum.

The Reps won the first game 13-2 before the Muckers scratched out a 7-6 victory to salvage the split.

"We just couldn't close the door tonight," said Reps coach Brian Wieck, whose team has come from behind in numerous games all season but struggled to come back from a 6-0 deficit in this one. "You learn something from every game."

In the first game of the doubleheader, Cole Andriolo pitched a complete game for Helena and got plenty of suport. Kade Henderson, Butte's starter, did not.

Andriolo gave up just three hits and struck out four to earn the win, hurling just 98 pitches in the rout.

Reps right fielder Lee Mueller went 4-for-5 and reached on an error, scoring three runs.

The Reps, who overcame a 9-0 deficit against Dillon on Wednesday night, rallied to turn a 6-1 deficit into a 7-all tie in the second game.

The defensive woes flipped from the first game, and Butte took advantage of six Helena errors. The Muckers, on the other hand, played error-free baseball.

The Reps are still sitting in second place in their conference, behind Gallatin Valley. Helena plays at the Lewistown Red Birds today for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
