Cody golfer signs with Great Falls
GREAT FALLS -- University of Great Falls golf coach Steve Silsby has announced the signing of Hunter Schneider of Cody, Wyo.
Schneider was a four-year golf letterman and also competed on the alpine ski team.
Silsby says Schneider has the ability to compete for one of the top five spots on the Argos team.
Skyview coach resigns after six seasons
BILLINGS (AP) -- Billings Skyview softball coach Scott Lynch has resigned after six seasons.
Lynch says he wants to spend more time with his family.
He led the Lady Falcons to five straight state tournaments, before bowing out in the playoffs this year to eventual champion Billings Senior.
Billings Senior hires boys' soccer coach
BILLINGS (AP) -- Zach Robbins has been named the boys' soccer coach at Billings Senior.
He takes over for Dan Bergstrom, who resigned after last season.
The 30-year-old Robbins played basketball and soccer at Billings Central and basketball at Rocky Mountain College. He has played and coached in the Magic City club ranks.
Senior finished 3-6-4 last season, but has won two state Class AA championships.
Robbins says he plans to meet with the team this week to set up a conditioning program.
Scurry to light torch for Big Sky Games
BILLINGS (AP) -- USA women's soccer goalie Briana Scurry is scheduled to be the special guest athlete of the 23rd annual Big Sky State Games.
Scurry is scheduled to light the torch and address the audience during the opening ceremonies on Friday, July 18, at Daylis Stadium in Billings.
Scurry is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and has played with the USA women's national team since 1994. She is on the roster for the upcoming Olympics in Beijing.
Scurry, a Minnesota native, helped the University of Massachusetts to the NCAA Final Four in 1993 and was named the national collegiate goalkeeper of the year.
