The NAIA announced the 2008-09 Division I men's basketball All-America teams, and Carroll College had two recipients make honorable mention.
Senior point guard Chad Vaculin and freshman post Andy Garland both received the accolade.
The selections are made by the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises first, second, third and honorable mention teams.
"Both Chad and Andy had outstanding years," said Saints head coach Gary Turcott. "This honor is an accurate reflection of the contributions that these two great players made to the Carroll College basketball program."
National championship participants Columbia (Mo.) and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) landed two players on the All-America teams. Senior forward Devin Uskoski of Rocky and Christian Lewis of Columbia were mentioned on the third team.
Highlighting the teams are senior guard Eric Palm of McKendree (Ill.) and Danny Hawkins of MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.). The players were the only ones to earn 2008 NAIA All-America first team honors. Hawkins was listed on the NAIA Division II squad.
Rocky teammates Chase Sukut and Nate Richardson earned all-tournament team honors and Richardson also received the tournament's Charles Stevenson Hustle Award.
Geoff Payne of Westminster College received first team All-America honors, was named to the all-tournament team and was also named the NAIA men's basketball player of the year by both the NAIA and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Rocky coach Bill Dreikosen was named the NAIA coach of the year.
MSU-Northern senior guard Chris Johnson was named to the third team.
Ryan Ames of the University of Great Falls received honorable mention.
Four Frontier Conference women's basketball players also received NAIA All-America honors.
Senior guard Shannon Evans of Westminster College received second-team honors, while MSU-Northern senior center Stacie Barker was named third-team All-American.
Honorable mention went to senior center Janie Rayback of Rocky Mountain and senior guard Elisa Leader of Westminster College.
