Caferro falls at P.A.L. boxing tourney

Duran Junior Caferro of the H-Town Eagles Boxing Club came up short in the National P.A.L. Boxing Tournament Thursday in Oxnard, Calif., losing a decision to Manuel Madina of Calif., in their semifinal fight.

Caferro recieved a first round bye and won by way of a walkover in the second round of the tournamet when his oppoment Ray Arcie from Texas did not make weight.

In the quarterfinal Caferro stopped his opponent Edgar Ramierez from the U.S. Marines after Caferro knocked Ramierez down with a left uppercut. In the semifinal Caferro lost a decision to manuel Madina.

The H-Town Eagles Boxing Club begins its season with an informational meeting on Oct. 13 at the Eagles Lodge at 801 Fee St. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. Males and females ages eight years old and up are welcome.
