The Belgrade Wolfpack, aided by two local players, won the 2009 ASA Northwest Regional 16U girls fastpitch softball tournament held at Batch Fields over the weekend.
Belgrade went 4-0 for the tourney, defeating the Billings Blues 7-3 in the championship game. Helena High's Jenna Krum pitched a complete game for the victory on Sunday, while Wolfpack teammate Anna Morgan of Capital went 1-for-4 at the plate.
The win qualifies Belgrade for the 2010 Hall of Fame National Tournament in Oklahoma City next year.
There were seven teams competing in the tournament, including the Spokane Storm, which featured CHS Bruin pitcher Jordan Petersen. Coeur d'Alene's Northwest Athletics placed third.
During the Saturday night semifinals, Krum fired a complete game 3-0 shutout over Billings to advance Belgrade to the chipper.
