Adult Slowpitch Softball Starts Monday

One hundred adult Helena slowpitch softball teams have registered to play ball in women's, coed and men's leagues this year. League games for women and men will begin Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21, at Batch fields. Coed games will start the following weeks. Schedules can be found on the softball web-site: www.leaguelineup.com/helenasoftball and at Universal Athletic Service. Opening games for the first two days are:

Men's D - Monday:

6 p.m. - GWEng vs CCRadio; Nickels vs NShots; Kelson vs. Pioneer; JaysM vs Ruffneck

7:15 p.m. - BallDawg vs DABBG; Windsor vs Four0Six; Kens vs Panthers; CapTran vs Crist

Men's Div I - Tuesday:

6 p.m. - Beers vs KAOS; Center vs IceBomb

7:15 p.m. - B&ESS vs ClubHouse; Drillem vs ETC

Women's - Tuesday:

6 p.m. - DQ vs WNickel; NickWII vs IMMA

7:15 p.m. - HPC vs DirtyP; MLGals vs BouldW

CHS basketball camps to be held in June

Capital High coach Bill Pilgeram will be holding basketball camp this summer for girls entering grades 5-10 next fall. The Lady Bruin Basketball fundamental camp will be June 15-18 at Capital High School. The camp will be broken into grades 5-7 in the morning from 9:30-12:30 and grades 8-10 in the afternoon from 1:30-5 p.m.

The camp is designed to introduce girls to Capital Bruins basketball and will focus on every aspect of the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Camp features include T-shirts for every player, personal contact with the coaching staff, specialized position sessions, and many competitions every day.

3-on-3 tourney slated for May 17

There will be a 3-on-3 boys and girls basketball tournament for those interested in playing on Sunday, May 17, at the Helena High School gym, starting at 9 a.m. This tourney is for students in grades 3-8 (this year). The cost is $75 per team and each team is allowed to have 5 players on the roster. If you have any questions or would like to register a team, please give coach Willie Schlepp a call at 324-2242 as soon as possible. The teams are limited and are filling up fast. The deadline for teams to enter is Monday, May 4.
