In Western AA volleyball action at the Capital High Bear's Den gym Thursday, the Capital Bruins (2-9, 2-4) lost a tough, grueling match to a very good visiting Glacier High (4-4, 3-1) in five sets, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 18-16. After being down two sets to one, the Bruins battled back courageously to win the fourth set, and were ahead 14-11 in the final tie-breaker before losing the marathon by just two points.

"This was a tough one to lose, but we competed in this match," said Capital coach Sarah Urban. "I saw determination from the kids tonight that I haven't seen before this year. We did a lot of good things, but we still made too many passing and serving errors."

Emily Burk paced the Lady Bruin spikers, with 36 assists, 12 digs and four aces. Sammi Bignell posted 14 kills and three blocks.
