Frontier Conference results: Sellars and Noble lead Lights over Tech

BUTTE -- Andrew Sellars and Travis Noble each scored 19 points in Montana State-Northern's 71-66 victory against Montana Tech on Saturday night.

Delvaughn Tinned added 14 points for the Lights (19-8, 9-4 Frontier).

Montana Tech (6-22, 2-12), which trailed 38-27 at the break, rallied in the second half. But it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

Dusan Veselinovic came off the bench to lead the Orediggers with 14 points. Dirk Anderson and Jeramie Hopson each added 12 points.

Lewis-Clark State 76, Rocky Mountain 67

BILLINGS -- Mike Gordy scored 27 points to help lead Lewis-Clark State to a 76-67 win over Rocky Mountain on Saturday, clinching one of the top two berths to the Frontier Conference tournament.

Napoleon Gordon added 15 points for the Warriors (19-9, 10-4 Frontier), while Brian Duckworth finished with 13 points.

Lewis and Clark jumped to an early 17-5 lead and went into halftime ahead 39-24.

The Bears (21-8, 9-5) cut the margin to 58-53 with 4:03 remaining, but the Warriors responded with a pair of buckets by Gordy. A 3-pointer helped Rocky narrow the gap to 66-59 with 1:09 left, but the Bears were forced to foul and the Warriors converted down the stretch to secure the win.

Alvis Dowiels led the Bears with 18 points. Rocky's leading scorer Chase Sukut was held to just four points.

University of Montana-Western 90, Great Falls 88

DILLON--The University of Montana-Western won its season finale, beating the University of Great Falls 90-88 Saturday.

The Bulldogs were led by Daniel Creech, who had 27 points and Aaron Sims, who had 18 points and 16 rebounds.

The Argos led at halftime, but the Bulldogs fought back, solidifying their lead with a pair of Layne Glaus free throws that ensured the victory.

The Bulldogs went to 10-18, 3-11 in conference play. The Argos fell to 8-17 and 2-11.

Women's

University of Montana-Western 62, Great Falls 53

DILLON -- Jamie Lake hit a field goal late in the game that broke a tie and lifted the University of Montana-Western women's basketball team to a 62-53 win over the University of Great Falls.

The Argos led for much of the first half and for 16 minutes of the second, before the Bulldogs' Chloe Mosey hit one-of-two foul shots to tie the game up.

Jill Dana led Western with 20 points and Lake scored 13.

Laura Keaster paced the Argos with 14 points.

Montana State-Northern 50, Montana Tech 38

The Montana State Northern women's basketball team pulled away in the second half to down Montana Tech.

The Skylights outscored Tech 32-18 in the second half to put the game away.

Becky Sorenson led the Skylights with 19 points. Stacie Barker chipped in with 10 points.

Jennessa Todd led Montana Tech with nine points. The Orediggers shot 26 percent from the field in the game.

Lewis-Clark State 78, Rocky Mountain 54

The Warriors followed up a convincing win over Carroll College with a big win over Rocky Mountain.

Four players scored in double figures for LCSC, led by Lacie Titmus' 17 points.

Rocky was paced by Liz Lewis' 15 points.

The Argos fell to 8-17 and 2-11.
