The Helena Titans showed improvement, but ultimately fell short to the Missoula Phoenix 34-12 in a Rocky Mountain Football League contest.

The Titans rolled up over 300 yards in total offense led by quarterback Jacob Pena and wide receivers Freddy Brown and running back Luke Barrett.

Pena and Brown each scored touchdowns for the Titans.

Helena also had considerable success on the defensive side of the ball. They registered eight sacks. Their effort was led by Bob Anderson and Tiff Meyers.

"Our front seven dominated," said Titans coach Rich Wallis. "They couldn't run the ball to save their life. It was just pass, pass, pass and we had break downs in coverages."

Missoula broke open the game in the second have, outscoring the Titans 20-6 over the final two quarters.

The Phoenix had three players ejected in the game due to unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Titans fall to 0-2 on the season and will play in Darby next weekend against the Bitterroot Blaze.
