Carroll College head football coach Mike Van Diest has announced the signing of four recruits, including two from Montana, to add to this year's stellar recruiting class for the Saints.

"We are excited about these four players and the passion that they bring to Carroll College football," Van Diest said. "I can't wait to get these four on campus with the rest of our freshman."

The recruits are:

1. Dominic Santucci is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound tight end from Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho. Santucci was named first team all-conference as a junior and senior. In his junior year he was named second team all-state and in his final season selected first team all-state. He was also named captain his senior season. He played in the East/West Shrine Game where he scored a touchdown and was a three-year letterman in football. In 2007, he had 24 receptions for 397 yards with three TDs and four 2-point conversions. He has been selected to the academic All-American team the last three years. He was recruited by Idaho State.

"Dominic is the type of tight end we were targeting for the future," Van Diest said. "He has the speed of a wide receiver and the toughness of a linebacker."

2. Connor Janhunen is a 5-11, 175-pound defensive back and kicker from Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Wash. Janhunen was named the student-athlete for fall semester at Central Valley this past year. He was named Honorable Mention All-Greater Spokane League this past year and as a junior was named first in track. Connor will finish his career at Central Valley as an 11-time varsity letterman with three in basketball and four in football and track. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has been listed on the honor roll all four years. He is carrying a 3.8 GPA and will major in pre-med.

"Connor is one of the top sprinters in Eastern Washington and brings the type of athleticism to our secondary that we are accustomed to," Van Diest said. "He is also an outstanding kicker."

3. Dillon Slaugh is a 6-1, 215-pound defensive end from Park City High School in Park City, Utah. Slaugh was named first team all-region this past year and second team all-state his senior year. He has been a two-way starter as a junior and senior. He is a three-year letter winner in football and while lettering twice in track and once in wrestling. Slaugh has also been in the honor roll all four years in high school. He was selected to the school's Leadership Council this past year. He carries a 3.6 G.P.A. He was recruited by Adams State and Fort Lewis College.

"Dillon is a great defensive player," Van Diest said. "He has a motor that never stops. He plays just like Chuck Hayter, Nate Chiovaro and Phil Lenoue, great defensive ends for the Saints in the past years."

4. Tucker Hoge is a 6-4, 275-pound offensive and defensive lineman from Frenchtown. He has been named first team all-state defensive lineman for the past two years. In 2006 and 2007 he was named first team all-conference on both the offensive and defensive lines. This past season, Hoge was named Co-MVP in this conference. He has been on the school's honor roll. He is a three-year starter in football and has been selected to play in this summer's East/West Shrine Game and the Mon/Dak All-Star Game.

"It is nice to sign someone like Tucker who has the size and agility coming out of high school," Van Diest said. "He is one of the most impressive linemen that we watched on film this year."
