University of Montana running back Andrew Schmidt was named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week, while teammate Brandon Fisher won defensive honors.

Fisher, a junior linebacker from Franklin, Tenn., had six unassisted tackles, seven total tackles and forced a fumble that Montana recovered for a safety to give the Griz a 23-21 lead in the fourth quarter.

Idaho State kick returner JD Ponciano earned special teams honors. He had four returns for 144 yards, including a 60-yarder in ISU's 42-27 loss to Idaho.
