OMAHA, Neb. -- The Carroll College Saints soccer team brought their season record to 4-0 with a 4-2 win against the Bellevue University Bruins in Omaha, Neb., Sunday.

"It was a good game," said Carroll head coach David Thorvilson. "It took both teams a while to settle in."

Carroll's Eileen Brennan opened the scoring 16 minutes into the first half with an assist by Jenni Annicchiarico.

Six minutes later, Katie Smith put the Saints up 2-0 with a goal, again assisted by Annicchiarico.

The Bruins got their first goal in the 28th minute, but in the 34th Smith scored again, this time assisted by April Wickersham.

In the second half, Bellevue found the net again in minute 63 to bring the score to 3-2. Carroll answered back in the 84th minute with an unassisted Valerie Feltz goal.

"It was a physical game," Thorvilson said. "We were the better in-shape team, the better fitness level."

Carroll goalie Nikki Skaggs had three saves to Bellvue's keeper's six. The Saints outshot the Bruins 10-5.
