The Townsend and Jefferson High School track teams will be participating in the Southern B Divisional track and field meet in Bozeman today.
Both of the Bulldogs' teams placed third at the District 5B meet last weekend, with the boys and the girls squads qualifying five athletes apiece in individual events for divisionals.
The Townsend boys earned district championships in four events. Shade Therriault won the 100- and 200- meter dashes, in 11.39 and 23.04 seconds, respectively. Kyland Santos captured the discus with a toss of 142-feet-7, and the shot put with a mark of 47-7. Santos also took third in the javelin.
Bulldog teammates earning a trip to divisionals are Jager Warner, in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200; Boone Helm, in the 110 hurdles; and triple jumper Hyunchal Ma.
On the girls side, Delaware Hanson garnered the district high jump, clearing 4-10. In addition, she placed in the shot put, triple jump and long jump. Lynsie Williams also qualified in four events: the triple jump, long jump, high jump and 100 dash.
Other Bulldog ladies making divisionals are Jordan Audet (800, 1,600 and 3,200), Kelsey Wickens (100, 400) and Rachael Moudree (300 hurdles).
All four of coach Travis Rauh's relay teams will be competing at divisionals.
For coach Don Olsen's Jefferson Panthers, Jonathan Olsen qualified in the 400, 1,600 and pole vault, in the boys competition. Javelin thrower Rex Feller also made it.
The Panther girls will be represented by Jordan Powers, in the high jump and javelin; Miranda Clark in the javelin; and Emily Schroeck in the pole vault.
Both of Jefferson's 400 relay squads will participate in Bozeman, as well.
The top eight in each event will move on to the state Class B track meet, which takes place in Kalispell May 29-30.
