The Carroll College Soccer program played a very familiar opponent this afternoon as they held the inaugural Carroll College alumni match. Fighting Saint fans left Nelson Stadium very happy as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Valerie Feltz struck first for the alumni as she scored in the 7th minute of the match. The goal would be the lone score for either team in the first half.
Late in the second half of the 70 minute exhibition match No. 17 Hannah Young passed down field to freshman, No. 20 Meghan O'Connell who tied the game at 1-1 with 19 minutes left.
The current Saints would have a few scoring opportunities in the second half, but were unable to capitalize on the field position.
The Saints will now look ahead to their season opener as they prepare to take on Concordia-Portland and Evergreen State College at the Arno Zoske Soccer Tournament in Olympia, Wash., next weekend.
