Elly Bruursema led a balanced attack with 17 points and the Carroll College women’s basketball team used a hot-shooting second half to come from behind to beat Dickinson State 77-61 on Friday night at the Carroll P.E. Center.
The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Saints (3-3), who will host California Baptist today at 5 p.m.
Alysha Green added 14 points and Cassie Scheffelmaier 13 for Carroll, which trailed 31-30 at halftime.
The Saints shot just 36 percent in the first half, but 52 percent after halftime, to finish at 43.9 percent (29-of-66) for the game. Hannah Heidenreich as the only Carroll player to make more than half of her field goal attempts, going 4-for-4 for 8 points.
Dickinson State shot just 41.8 percent and was lead by Kia Herbel with a game-high 33 points. Herbel made 14 of 18 shots and 5 of 6 free-throw attempts.
Carroll had a 26-23 rebounding advantage. Both teams committed 16 turnovers.
